PlayIT Show Budapest 2026
Hungary's largest gaming and pop-culture event moves to a new home: PlayIT Show 2026 takes place on 5-6 December at MTK Sportpark in Budapest, with game demos, stage shows, cosplay and creator meetups.
PlayIT Show, Hungary's largest gaming event, returns on 5 and 6 December 2026 - and this time at a brand-new venue. After years at Hungexpo, the show relocates to MTK Sportpark in Budapest, with organisers promising a bigger and more spectacular edition than before.
The programme follows the formula that has made PlayIT a fixture of the Central European scene: hands-on stations where visitors can try unreleased and freshly launched games, the PlayIT main stage with celebrity guests, esports showcases and live performances, cosplay programming, prize draws, and meetups with Hungary's most popular content creators. Beyond gaming, the show leans into wider pop culture too - film, series, board games and general geek programming - plus a retro corner for older players.
It is a consumer show through and through: families, teens and long-time gamers rather than industry visitors. For players from Croatia and the wider region, Budapest is one of the closest big gaming weekends of the winter - roughly a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Zagreb.
Tickets are sold online via the official site (playit.hu) and jegy.hu, with day tickets and weekend passes available.
