Kirby Air Riders Just Hit Its Lowest Price Since June - And I'm So Happy About It

Full disclosure: I've been waiting for exactly this. Seventy dollars for a game is a lot - especially when you're buying for a whole household where the nephew also demands a turn - so when Kirby Air Riders quietly slipped down to $51.99 on Amazon, I did a small happy dance at my desk.

That's roughly 26% off the usual $69.99, for a brand-new physical copy of the Switch 2 exclusive, with free shipping on top. According to IGN, it's the lowest the game has been since Prime Day back in June. So if you've been circling this one for months, waiting for the price to blink first: it just blinked.

If Kirby Air Riders somehow flew under your radar, picture a racing game filtered through Masahiro Sakurai's wonderfully chaotic brain. The roster leans on Dream Land favorites - Kirby, Waddle Dee, King Dedede, Meta Knight - and the obvious comparison is Mario Kart World, because of course it is. But the two really don't step on each other's toes. IGN's own review called Air Riders a significant leap forward for the series, and honestly, there's room for both on one console. They scratch very different itches.

What I love most is who this game is for. Kirby has always been Nintendo's warmest welcome mat - the series newcomers and little kids can actually play without tears - and a racer wearing that pink coat of paint is exactly the kind of thing I want on the shelf for family weekends. My nephew took one look at King Dedede on a ride machine and that was that.

The usual deal-hunting caveat applies: it's a limited-time price, and these things can vanish without warning. But physical copies of first-party Nintendo games dipping this low outside a big sale event is genuinely rare. If this one's been on your list, I'd say don't overthink it.
