Sony Plans to Phase Out Physical PlayStation Games by 2028

Sony is said to be planning to wind down physical PlayStation game releases by 2028, pointing to a steady shift in consumer habits toward digital purchases. The change would mark a major milestone in the industry's move away from discs.

Nothing is finalised, and existing physical libraries would of course continue to work - but the direction of travel is clear.
