Budapest Game Dev Day 2026
Hungary's game development community gathers at MagNet Közösségi Ház in Budapest on 19 September 2026 for a full day of talks, a playable exhibition and networking.
Budapest Game Dev Day is the annual gathering of the Hungarian game development scene, organised by the Hungarian Game Developers Association (HGDA). The 2026 edition runs on 19 September at MagNet Közösségi Ház on Andrássy út 98, a new venue for the event.
The programme is built around 17 talks covering programming, game design, graphics, audio, marketing, HR, publishing, legal questions and indie development. The organisers say the sessions are deliberately pitched at every experience level, so it works both for people who are only just discovering game development and for professionals who already ship titles.
Alongside the talks there is an exhibition area with playable Hungarian games and development tools, a Developer Speed Dating session for finding collaborators and building teams, a pitch contest judged by an international jury, an evening Business Meetup from 19:00 aimed at studio owners and industry leaders, and an afterparty in the courtyard.
For developers, students and indie teams from Croatia and the wider region it is one of the most accessible dev events around: Budapest is a short drive or train ride from Zagreb, it is a single day, and the crowd is close enough in market and scale to make the networking genuinely useful.
