Hasbro's Legend of Zelda Figures Are Up for Preorder - and Ganondorf Made the Cut

I did not expect Hasbro of all companies to give me a little collector itch this week, but here we are.

Preorders just went live for a fresh set of The Legend of Zelda figures, and the trio at the front of the line is exactly the one you'd hope for: Link, Princess Zelda, and Ganondorf. The whole Hyrule power triangle, ready to sit on your shelf.

Here's the practical stuff, because I know that's what you actually want. Link and Zelda are each going for $27.99 (Walmart's shaved a whole two cents off, if that sways you), while Ganondorf runs a bit pricier at $42.99. They're not shipping until May 1 next year, so this is very much a "reserve now, wait patiently" situation. Both Hasbro and IGN flag that these are likely to sell out fast, so if there's one you're set on, it's probably worth locking in early rather than gambling on restocks.

Who's this actually for?

Honestly? This one's for the shelf-display crowd and the lifelong Zelda fans more than the kids - a $43 Ganondorf isn't exactly stocking-stuffer territory. But I love that they led with the villain at all. Ganondorf so often gets left out of these lineups, or turned into a pricey exclusive nobody can find, so seeing him in the launch wave right next to the hero and the princess feels right. You can't tell the story with two-thirds of the triangle.

What I can't tell you yet - and won't pretend to - is how they feel in hand: the scale, the articulation, how the paint holds up on Ganondorf's armor. Preorder photos always look glorious. We'll see how the real things turn out closer to spring.

For now, though? If you've got a spot on the shelf shaped like a certain green-tunic'd hero, the reservation window is open. I may or may not be eyeing the Zelda one myself.
