PGL Wallachia Season 9
Sixteen of the world's best Dota 2 teams meet at the PGL Studio in Bucharest from 17 to 27 September 2026, playing for a prize pool of one million US dollars.
PGL Wallachia Season 9 brings top-tier Dota 2 back to Bucharest. From 17 to 27 September 2026, sixteen invited and qualified teams play at the PGL Studio in the Romanian capital for a prize pool of one million US dollars, with 300,000 dollars going to the winner. The format follows the pattern PGL has used across the Wallachia series: a Swiss-system group stage that trims the field, followed by a double-elimination playoff bracket.
The tournament was originally pencilled in for early November, but PGL moved it forward to September when it published its revised Dota 2 calendar, so anyone who had the old dates in their diary should update them.
For players in Croatia and the wider Adria region, Wallachia is the closest thing we have to a home Dota 2 LAN. Bucharest is a short flight away, and over the past seasons the series has become a regular fixture of the international circuit between the bigger Valve-backed events. If you are not travelling, every match is broadcast live on PGL's official Dota 2 channels. Information about tickets and studio audience is usually published by the organiser closer to the start of the tournament.
